Way back when, August 2011, we did our first show in Notting Hill Arts Club, flew Munchi into the UK invited a crew down to shoot a video for his collaboration with Lakey. They linked up for a grime track, not a genre Munchi’s particularly known for, but Lakey bent his arm and they got the track done. It’s called ‘Not Usually’ and is an essential listen for all UK grime heads looking for something fresh.

At last, the final cut has found the light of day. It perfectly captures what an incredible night we had and highlights Munchi and Lakey as two true talents to keep tabs on in 2012.

Last week Jumping Back Slash popped in to the Red Bull Studios in Cape Town to record a track. And the results are jaw-dropping! Something that nearly got lost in the post and certainly something that we can’t end 2011 without shouting about is Jumping Back Slash’s amazing remix of Isa GT.

Well known for her DJ work in London and around the world Isa GT’s productions are very much driven by her vocals. ‘Leyenda’, the first single on her own label Etoro Records, is no exception with her beautifully husky tones being the centre point for the original and all the remixes that have followed. The combined forces of Douster, JBS, Arcade and Edu K create a remarkable remix package with each mix completely different from the next.
